On Tuesday, February 11th, Tom Carruthers, CCIM participated in Realtor Day at the Capitol as a representative of the AL CCIM Chapter.
Over 200 Alabama REALTORS® attended 2025 REALTOR® Day at the Capitol in Montgomery, highlighting the importance of real estate in job creation, economic growth, and community development. The event, held at The Renaissance Montgomery, featured panel discussions with state leaders, a luncheon with Alabama Port Authority Director and CEO John Driscoll, and a legislative briefing from AAR CEO Jeremy Walker. The day also celebrated the achievements of local REALTOR® boards during the 2024 ARPAC Awards presentation. Key issues discussed included state economic projections, tort reform, and the impact of lawsuit abuse on Alabama. The afternoon sessions included a cybersecurity panel discussing real estate scams and fraud, and a panel on real estate construction and banking. The day concluded with a legislative reception at the AAR building, where REALTORS®, state officials, and legislators engaged in networking and discussing key industry issues.
